The MPA are threatening to disband the Met's specialist human trafficking unit, handing over its remit to 'Vice and Clubs' comprising Met officers without specific knowledge or training in the third largest international crime after arm and drugs trading. Labour MEP Mary Honeyball is presenting a petition to the Mayor today, signed by nearly 2000 people, urging the Met Commissioner and the MPA to reconsider its proposal to close the unit.
