Continuing our caffeine-fueled quest around London
For those of you with a true caffeine addiction, you've probably heard of this place. If not, this is the source that keeps so many of us going, the hive that supplies us with that sweet (and freshly roasted) nectar. If the Monmouth Coffee Company were to ever shut down, tourists may swear they'd witnessed the first stages of the inevitable Zombocalypse, and, well...you get the idea.
The cafe itself is cozy and situated on one of Covent Garden's side streets. The wooden booths, each featuring a rather large bowl of brown sugar, are tempting indeed. If you're willing to wait a bit, you might actually get a chance to sit down, but don't be afraid to share your table with a newspaper-reading stranger. Monmouth also serves pastries and cakes from Villandry and Paul. Pop in for a flat white at £2.30 or an espresso at £1.30. This stuff will keep you going all day.
