Live Music Preview: The Futureheads @ The Lexington

Sunderland's most notable art-rockers, The Futureheads, will bring their stop-start rhythms, layered vocals and uneven guitars to The Lexington on 14 December. About time too - it feels like ages since the creators of that inspired Kate Bush cover played a proper gig in the capital.

Of course, there's far more to their back catalogue than an unusual version of Hounds of Love. With three quality records behind them, plus the promise of new stuff from their forthcoming album, we're expecting a night of intelligent pop-rock - plus maybe the odd Christmas surprise - from one of the tightest bands around.Barry, Ross and the rest of The Futureheads play The Lexington on 14 December. Tickets go on sale tomorrow morning - keep an eye on the band's website for details of where to get them. As the venue only holds 200 people, you'll probably want to get in there quick.
