Liquor Stores Liquidated

Usually a boom day for your local offie with the imminent weekend, today may well see long faces behind the booze counter. The group that owns Threshers, Wine Rack, Bottoms Up, The Local, Haddows and Victoria Wine announces it's closure having been in the hands of administrators for a week. The businesses are up for sale but in the meantime, appropriately named 'liquidation sales' start today at the two thirds of stores slated for closure. Like thirsty vultures thus we shall descend our local offie to offer our condolences and stock up on spirits. Our local Threshers has a saucer on the counter, inviting you to help yourself to spare change. We'll be leaving something behind today instead.
