The ‘nest of nodules’, as we’d like to dub it, would act as an observation deck and a display for digital information feeds – perhaps a visualisation of the most popular Olympic search terms, weather data or a readout of anything tweeted with an Olympic hashtag.
The designers suggest crowdsourced micropayments as a means of raising funds. The structure is scalable to the level of funding – the more they get, the bigger and better it will be.
We like. It’s bold, original and is sure to royally piss off the traditionalists. Better yet, the design might tempt West Ham into using the Olympic Stadium in legacy. Imagine the resonance with their traditional singalong of I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles. And will the Cloud Appreciation Society add Cumulus digitalis to their spotters’ guide?
