Londonist Is Five: Party Tonight

Precocious muso and sometime Londoner Amadeus Mozart wrote his first composition when he was five years old. Slacker! We've now reached the same milestone*, and we've written almost 15,000 posts.

Before we get too carried away with the self-congratulatory rhetoric, we need to slip into justified cliché. We couldn't have kept going, kept building and improving, if it wasn't for you our loyal readers. All of you. Well, nearly all of you. Like any web site, we get the occasional crank and loony commenter. But not many. So thanks to all (N - 3) of you.

If you hadn't already heard, we're throwing a few drinkies at the Water Poet, 9-11 Folgate Street, Spitalfields tonight. Everyone's welcome. Those who turn up early (i.e. from 6.30) can claim a free drink. Just track down M@ or Lindsey to get a beer token (other beverages, and methods of procurement, are available). Remember, we're in the basement bar (enter the pub, walk past the bar, turn into the bar on the right and the stairs are immediately on your right...).

Alongside the free booze, we'll also have plenty of cupcakes (because nothing complements the subtle, hoppy taste of a real ale or fine wine than a face-full of sugary cake mix). We've also lined up a simple experiment in map-based psychogeography. What can it all mean? Turn up from 6.30 to find out.

*Well, almost. Technically, our anniversary is next week, so expect a self-indulgent retrospective in a few days.
