Chemical Fumes Drama At Heathrow

Ambulances were on hand this morning to greet a British Airways plane from the US on which six passengers had fainted. After it had taxied to a remote part of the airport, emergency services personnel boarded the Boeing 777 wearing Hazmat suits amid fears that a chemical leak or a bug was responsible, though they were unable to find evidence of any noxious substances. None of the other 210 passengers and 14 crew were affected. The sick passengers have now been discharged, and police are not treating the incident as suspicious. Asked if the problem was serious, a laconic, silver-haired gentleman who answered to the name of Mr.Nielsen, told us it wasn't, then asked us not to call him Shirley.
