Strike On Victoria Line Planned

2509_victoria.jpg Members of the RMT union on the Victoria Line will walk out at 9.30pm on October 5th for a 24-hour strike, it's been announced. For those who get their sh*ts and giggles from the minutiae of management vs. worker brouhahas, the story this time is the RMT claim bosses have reneged on a 2003 deal to reduce the number of return journeys a driver makes per day, in respect of the lack of a cab air cooling system in what is one of the network's two entirely subterranean lines. Since the opening of the Brixton depot, management reckon air cooling is now good enough, and have gone back to the old rota; Bob Crow thinks not. And there's your strike, folks. Best avoid the pale blue line on the evening of October 5th and all day on the 6th. (Image / edscoble),
