Lost In London

infernaltraffic.jpg Ever been hopelessly lost in London? Don't worry, you're not the only one. A surprising four out of five motorists have admitted to getting lost, having an accident or running out of petrol after taking a wrong turn. Admitted, that is, in a new survey from a tyre company, who stand to get plenty of free press mentions in exchange for their trouble. But it does reinforce the point that London drivers have a tough time of it. With myriad traffic regulations across different boroughs, driving in the capital can be a stressful, confusing and expensive business and woe betide anyone who ends up in the wrong lane. In fact, we wouldn't be at all surprised to learn that many of these wrong turns were the result of spending so much time avoiding red-light jumping buses, watching out for speed cameras (as if speeding is possible in central London), interpreting confusing signage and playing chicken with lemming-like pedestrians that finding your destination is less important than dodging a punch-up with white-van man. So unless you're a taxi driver, sat nav is your friend. Image by M@.
