Autumn's drawing in - but the spate of local love continues unabated. Quite right too.
We're South of the river this weekend. Firstly to Nunhead where the goodly burghers are hosting an Arts Festival. Apologies 'cos we buggered up our timing on this and missed the first day - but there's heaps going on throughout the rest of the week anyway. How do beer and poetry, or lunchtime jazz, or cupcakes with Lesbian satire grab you? That's just tomorrow's offerings. Then (and in no particular order) there's art, comedy and music. Best of all, if you are an 'older person' (?) there's a free screening of Mama Mia.
Thence to Brockwell Park, where tomorrow sees the Second Annual Bake, part of the Urban Green Fair. The idea is to promote home baking and general domestic goddessness, and there's a competition. SO whether your forte is stone-baked earthiness or cup-caked prettiness, get your pinny on and shimmy down to Brixton.
See? There's more to Autumn than all that harvest stuff. (Image/Susie Harrison)
