Strippers Arrives In Hornchurch

thestripper0809.jpg A new musical opening at a theatre on the fringe of London might unfairly get missed in lots of coverage. Not this time though. Not when the writer of the musical is Richard O'Brien, creator of The Rocky Horror Show, and the musical is The Stripper, a show he wrote in the early 80s. Only previously produced a few times in Australia, 'The Stripper' is scheduled to open for it's first UK performances at The Queen's Theatre in Hornchurch on September 1 (with previews from 28/8) which is the best reason we've ever had to test out the outer regions of the District Line. Set in 1961 California, it's a campy tale of 'blondes, burlesque and bullets' adapted from Carter Brown's detective novel.

Tickets are from £13.50 and already selling fast at the Queen's Theatre site. The production will take in two other theatres but this is the only chance to see the show in London so far.
