Preview: A Dickens Of A Pub Quiz

Dickensatthebar.jpg

Yes, it's a quiz by Charles Dickens, hosted by Charles Dickens...at the Dickens Inn. In short, this is a quiz that is so Dickensian it might very well be thrown into the Fleet Prison uttering a mellifluous stream of unnecessary adjectives for pick-pocketing a destitute road sweeper called Mr Bumblesnook. But before that happens, settle down on 1 September to enjoy the 'Twist with Dickens' quiz at the Charles Dickens pub in St Katherine's Docks. Teams should consist of four or fewer people and we're promised 'Questions about London today and yesterday'. There are two opportunities to join in, at 6pm and 8pm, with entry just £3 each. The evening will be hosted by Mr Christopher West, almost certainly one of the top 1000 Charles Dickens impersonators in the world. In fact, he's so good that we've cornered him into hosting the Londonist quiz on 1 October. But that is a tale for another day...

Thanks for the brilliant writeup. The evening will be focussing on light hearted questions about London, both modern and traditional, so lots of young people as well, please. You don't need to know much about Dickens (as long you don't moan about my outfit).
