Not much on today? Pair of legwarmers handy? Then this afternoon you can learn a dead simple, jazz hands, 'learn to fly' routine at theBROADWAY Theatre Barking with dancer and choreographer David Lee from the original cast of Fame in the West End.

Whatever your dance skills, we're hoping there'll be some brilliantly convincing and/or enthusiastic Coco, Leroy, Doris, Bruno and Danny impersonations, not forgetting a stern Lydia Grant with her stick, a sexy Elizabeth Sherwood and an avuncular Benjamin Shorofsky. Is that too much to ask?

Afterwards, pump your self up and pack a princely picnic ready for the UK's first outdoor dance-a-long film screening of classic 80s musical Fame.

This has to be worth some photographs, folks. 20 bonus points if you capture Justin Lee-Collins in costume.

Free Fame Dance-a-long workshops are free and suitable for all ages and abilities 12 - 1pm, 2.30 - 3.30pm, 4-5pm. The Fame screening/singing/Dance-a-Long starts at 08.30pm at the LIFT on Abbey Green, Barking. Part of LIFT Molten Festival.
