Afternoon Tea Review: Belle & Crumb Present... A Splendidly Scrumptious Afternoon Tea

Somewhere between The Secret Garden and Alice in Wonderland is London’s little haven of sweetness. The walled garden tucked behind Rococo Chocolate’s Knightsbridge store transports you to a world of tranquillity far away from the hustle and bustle of the London streets.

On this particular Sunday, two lovely girls (Bella & Crumb) hosted a scrumptious afternoon tea which would have made The Famous Five dash home for tea and medals. The afternoon tea in aid of charity, Beat Bullying, would have easily rivalled (and beat) any of the generic tea menus from London’s fine hotels. Tasty, plentiful, and clearly homemade with lots of love at only £15 this was a delightful feast.

A glass of cold Prosecco started the afternoon off wonderfully. And, with the sun pounding down hard, a large jug of traditional lemonade didn’t last long.

A slice of Leek and Gruyere Tart and Cheese Biscuits was accompanied by a delicious spicy tomato jam which combined sweetness, tang and spice in just the right balance. Freshly baked scones followed a large plate of sandwiches, and that just about broke through the half way point! Moist cupcakes (lemon and vanilla), gooey brownies and little biscuits personalised with your initials would have rounded off the afternoon perfectly - but just to make sure you’re totally satisfied a final treat of love heart sweets and a melt in your mouth Rococo Chocolate.

A filling afternoon feast for charity allows you to gorge and feel fabulous whilst doing so. All the money goes to Beat Bullying - so sign up now on their site for the next two dates (20th September & 18th October). These two girls are truly talented and could certainly make this a regular Sunday afternoon event.
