Wembley Car Parking Price Hike

parking.jpg Wheelchair users and those dependent on car travel are paying double last week’s rates for parking at Wembley stadium. Wembley London Ltd manage the stadium’s car parks and this week prices have gone from £12.00 to £26.50 for a short stay. Disability charity Radar has expressed concerns disabled customers and wheelchair users are being unfairly affected by the price hike; Wembley London Ltd defend their decision by citing standardising parking costs in line with other major London venues like Earls Court. While Wembley’s public transport links are good (when there isn’t an RMT strike), tube and train isn’t convenient for all and car parking is essential, not a luxury for some. Another case of paying up or staying at home, the increasingly popular option for the recession.
