Wayne Hemingway’s KiosKiosK At More London

Previewed earlier in the year at the Design Museum’s Super Contemporary exhibition, Wayne Hemingway’s KiosKiosK was officially opened today outside City Hall.

KiosKiosK is Hemingway’s response to the Museum’s challenge, which asked London designers to give something back to the city. Reflecting on his early days as a trader in Camden, and the vicious rental prices which nowadays mean small shopkeepers can barely survive, he designed a small, rent-free pop-up shop which can be readily set up and used to display wares simply and easily.

The kiosk’s first inhabitant is Westergaarrd Designs. They’ll be displaying their goodies until Saturday, at which point another will take over. KiosKiosK will host dozens of designers over the summer until early September – you can find out who’s in the kiosk on any given day by checking out the calendar.
