We mentioned this in our round up of summer gigs at the Southbank Centre but couldn't let Riz MC's rooftop party go unhyped as he remains one of our favourite EARs and we thought he did a wicked job in Shifty. Meet the man himself this Saturday as star host of United Underground for music, activism and a damn good time.

A mere five pounds gets you up on the roof for its debut as additional venue and to be a part of this multi-faceted event. Co-hosted by backers of small and funky creative enterprises, British Underground and Ctrl.Alt.Shift whose mantra of 'action rather than donation' decrees fun times over handouts this promises much. So enjoy Bashy, Plan B, Get Cape Wear Cape Fly and many others while wandering through the building taking in different speakers, short films, music and the creation of a "live fanzine".

The whole evening will eventually erupt onto the Riverside Terrace outside the Queen Elizabeth Hall and you should be there. The whole point of the night is to promote active engagement with new music and its potential as a catalyst for change so get down there and bubble over. Buy tickets online and enjoy. 5-11pm, Sat 18 July at Queen Elizabeth Hall, Southbank Centre.
