With their decidedly evocative rock n’ rock name, Doll & The Kicks have already ensured that they will grab your attention. Are they the New York Dolls meets Undertones classic ‘Teenage Kicks’? Or are they Juliette and The Licks? Well, neither exactly. But they clearly possess that special something required to capture the imagination of notorious talent spotter Morrissey, joining him on his recent tour that culminated in his those rescheduled shows at the O2 Brixton Academy.

This is the Brighton four piece’s first headlining show since then and they are certainly worth their spot as a headlining act, especially for the showmanship of their front woman, the eponymous Doll, who has drawn comparisons with every punky songstress from Pink to Siouxsie Sioux. The blonde haired singer is very much the dominant figure of the group with her knowingly affected, new wave-y pop posing and her impressively powerful voice.

Doll & The Kicks play Barfly, Camden tomorrow night supported by five piece indie rockers Colour of Sound and tickets are £6.65 here
