London Swine Flu Update: RMT Workers 'At Risk'

PiggyFlu.jpg As if casting around for a new excuse to strike after last month's successful effort, the RMT have warned that swine flu could have a 'devastating' impact on the London Underground. Somewhat ominously, they are simultaneously demanding to see safety plans while dismissing them as inadequate which doesn't bode well for tube users. TfL's suggestion that, should swine flu hit London, they run a reduced service has already been pooh-poohed by Bob Crow on the basis that under-staffing could be dangerous, though presumably a reduced service would by definition require less staff. What with the RMT's urging black cabbies to join up and swell their ranks, we might as well all stay at home and build tiny forts out of empty Tamiflu boxes. (Image / G Travels)
