There's no excuse for spending money on entertainment this week with local festivals, free film, toll-less talks and the monster London 2012 Open Weekend baying for your participation.
Thursday: Drop by the major car park installation, Graham Miller's Bassline at the Barbican before it closes on Sunday. Open till 10pm tonight, free.
Friday: Greenwich Free Film Festival starts with Mike Leigh's locally shot All or Nothing, 5.30 for 6pm at the O2 Vue.
Saturday: Hope for fine weather over the all day celebration in Pasley Park, Walworth of Southwark's Lost Zoo. Step back in time with Victorian tours, street performers, funfair, arts and crafts market, food stalls, zoetrope and shadow puppets, planting and beekeeping (save the bees!) workshops and ‘meet the animal’ sessions with London Zoo and Surrey Docks Farm - 12 to 6pm, free.
Sunday: Head west for Walpole Park and Ealing Global Festival, weaving soul, folk, latino, African, gypsy and more between 1.30-10.30pm. Adults £1, kids free.
Monday Catch Bollywood Film Night at the swanky contemporary Cinnamon Club Bar in old Westminster library for romantic comedy Kuch Kuch Hota Hai at 7.30pm. Admission free, bar food & popcorn available (sadly, not free).
Tuesday Go in search of Islam's Civilisation at a free public lecture at LSE, 6.30pm, Houghton Street. First come, first served.
Wednesday Get down to the Museum of the Month, the Cuming Museum on Walworth Road for You'll absolutely Lovett! From 6.30pm hear our friend Ross Macfarlane of the Wellcome Library speak about the legacy of Lovett's Collection of folklore objects whilst our other friend, Chris Roberts of One Eye Grey and our upcoming walk, will talk about more modern Southwark tales.
