Hendon Gas Explosion 'Suspicious'

A building in Hendon was completely destroyed yesterday in an explosion that police describe as 'suspicious'. Three people were injured in the blast, which reduced 85 Bell Lane to rubble. The explosion in the first-floor flat also damaged the ground floor, which is owned by multimillionaire Leo Noe. Press sources universally describe this as a 'shop', but an internet search and a look at Google Street View suggest it may better be referred to as a 'property and estate management company'. The incident has been confirmed as a gas explosion, but police are still assessing the scene for possible foul play. A neighbouring primary school remains closed today while the investigation continues.
