Blue Peter Garden On The Move

Last month's announcement that the BBC Television Centre in White City had been listed didn't answer the thorny question of what would happen to the Blue Peter garden, locus of many a cherished childhood memory. Rumours arose over the weekend that it might be bulldozed and resurrected in a "virtual version". A more desultory end for such a British institution is hard to imagine, so it's pleasing that the Beeb have rushed out and set the record straight. They're insisting that when the BBC moves to Salford in 2012, the garden will be going with them: sticks, stones, remains of George the tortoise, buried time capsules, the whole caboodle will be turfed up and quite literally transplanted into the Corporation's horribly-named mediacity:uk complex up in Manchester. Great news, but is it even possible to move an entire garden? Any horticulturists out there have any idea?
