The problem at Heathrow is that only 25% of travellers, have London as their final destination. The majority of travellers are going onwards to other destination. This is a bit like a busy interchange station. For instance I had a friend who are going from Barbados to Singapore, but he travelled via Heathrow.

All this effects the quality of life people live. In the Docklands it is bad, because I suffer from aircraft noise both London City Airport and also Heathrow jet as they are overflying to start their approach....

Well, the obvious solution if for London to start sucking so that so many people don't want to go there.

Having the estuary airport has already been indicated as a safety hazard due to the possible increase of bird strike. Heathrow expansion would be safer in this aspect but would mean the destruction of an entire villiage and an 11c church plus of course the problem to the local population.

In all both locations have their bad points yet few good ones.
