The iTunes Festival has become a bit of a summer fixture for us here at Londonist. That's mainly because it's free (we like free stuff), but also because the line up has always been pretty top-drawer, especially when you consider that the aim of the whole shebang is basically to get us all to buy more iPhones.

Anyway, it's back again next month and this time round the organisers seem to have ditched Koko, last year's venue, in favour of the Roundhouse. The festival runs throughout July and most of the bands playing have already been announced. Big name highlights include Oasis, Franz Ferdinand, Placebo and Kasabian, though as tickets are allocated through random draws, competition for these gigs is bound to be high.Thankfully there are plenty of slightly less well-known names who'll be well worth seeing too. Demand should be a bit lower for these and we think Amadou and Mariam, Graham Coxon and Simian Mobile Disco stand out. If they don't take your fancy, there are plenty of others to choose from too.You can see the line up and find out how to get in on the festival's website. Be warned that most tickets are being given away through Facebook this time round, so it looks like you'll need an account with the ubiquitous social networking site to be in with a chance of winning.
