Jazz Plus lunchtime music concerts take place in Victoria Embankment Gardens
Do you like your jazz contemporary, al fresco, and free? Tired spending your lunchbreaks dodging noxious colleagues in Pret or standing in the Post Office queue?

Then head to Victoria Embankment Gardens for some free lunchtime music concerts as Jazz Plus kicks off today. As Louis Balfour would say: "Nice."

Today's offering is the Roger Beaujolais Quintet who play mainly original acoustic jazz, inspired by "the hard bop and cool school bands of the 50s." Aren't we all.

Organised by Alternative Arts, the Jazz Plus season offers 15 concerts between now and 29 July; alongside bands, you can hear free lunchtime jazz from groups, sextets, collectives, and even a gang called Iain Ballamy's Jazz Anoraks (on 12 June). Cool.

All the concerts take place between 12.30 and 2pm.

You'll be swinging your way back to work, refreshed, revived and rejazzed before you know it. Grrrreat.

Jazz Plus is brought to you by Alternative Arts. Concerts take place on various days until 29 July at Victoria Embankment Gardens, Villers Street, WC2 next to the river and Embankment tube station. Admission Free. 020 7375 0441
