Biblio-Text: Marchpane / Goldsboro Books

Continuing our amble round Cecil Court's independent bookshops

Our first ports of call during our rummage round Cecil Court are Marchpane and Goldsboro Books. With its fantastic window display and Dalek (a bloody Dalek!), Marchpane is clearly a seller of children's books. But, much like M&S food, these aren't any children's books; these are collectable children's books, with illustrated books and some first editions thrown in. You can also pick up fanzines from the 70s and 80s if that's your bag.

Goldsboro Books only sells first editions, many of which are signed by the author. In fact, the proprietors' efforts in the publishing trade have earned them such kudos that certain big name authors will only sign for them. They have a healthy list of events and two very peaceful armchairs by the big window, next to some utterly gorgeous plant life.

Marchpane, 16 Cecil Court / Goldsboro Books, 7 Cecil Court. Map after the jump, images author's own. Know a good bookshop? Email us at londonist (@) gmail.com.
