When we headed to Waterloo this morning, we estimated a quick ticket buying experience, and then a speedy train to sunny Guildford.

What we didn't realise was that this is Royal Ascot weekend. And, when we got to Waterloo at 11 this morning, we joined about 40,000 people trying to buy tickets to Ascot.

The 40 minute wait to buy tickets wasn't fun, but we very much enjoyed how all the pretty dresses, morning suits, top hats and, of course, gorgeous hats classed up Waterloo. We'd be pleased if it looked like that all the time. Here are a few of the thousands of lovely people who made Waterloo so very crowded this morning.

We think they look delightful!
