Opportunistic Occupation

With another collective of imaginative, resourceful and caretaking people making an empty property their temporary home and turning it into something amazing it seriously seems to be time to come up with a new word for what they do - Atom Tom was right, 'squatting' just doesn't cover it. The Oubliette Collective have transformed a derelict former language school in Waterloo, creating art galleries, a cinema and a theatre in the building and providing space for artists to work. They'll get kicked out by the huge company that's left the property to rot of course but with more places standing empty, more opportunities to find out where they are and such positive of examples of "fluffy squatters" to be unconventionally inspired by, should squatting be rebranded?
