In not so shocking news, Amy Winehouse has dropped out of Island Record’s 50 year anniversary concert scheduled for May 31 at Shepherd’s Bush Empire. Winehouse, who was set to headline the show, has not provided a reason for cancellation but has issued an apology to fans. According to the Daily Mirror, her doctor has urged her not to perform after a recent trip to a hospital in St. Lucia for chest pains. Things aren’t looking so great for the singer who pulled out of Coachella in April, was booed off stage in St. Lucia, and has infuriated her record label with her switch to reggae. Winehouse’s inclination towards disaster is saddening indeed but begs the question of who will make a comeback first: Amy Winehouse or Michael Jackson. Predictions welcome.
