Slow Exposure: Songs To Slow Down To

slow_down_logo_160x151.jpg As this goes live, Slow Exposure is being hung on the wall at Ray’s Jazz Cafe, Foyles, scene – in a week’s time – of our chilled out, laid back, gentle, ambling, sitting, looking, sipping, chatting, slow themed private view. We really hope you’ll join us between 6-8.30pm on 1 May at Ray’s to admire the winning photographs from our competition and mingle with the photographers and Londonist people and friends. And if you do, how great to be able to influence our meandering playlist. What songs mean slow for you? What are the most relaxed vibes on your MP3 player? What would you like to nod your head along to as we hang out? Comment, let us know and we’ll make sure you’re suitably serenaded yet not sent to sleep at the do. Only one week to go! RSVP to londonist@gmail.com.

A bit premature but I fancy “Summertime” by Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince please

  • Alice

The first song that popped into my head was “Slow Ride” by Foghat. I’m not sure what that says about me.

Seconding Fleet Foxes… and songs with the words ‘slow down’ in them? Radiohead: The Tourist and Suede: The Drowners.

If it’s sunny then ‘The Sea’ by Morcheeba is supremely satisfying.

I withdraw my previous suggestion of Somersault and instead recommend:

Tracks from albums “Humidity” and/or “Electic Hush” by Heights of Abraham.

On Electic Hush try tracks: The Cleric, Dolphins, E.V.A, MAke Love – oh, but all of them really! :)

Any track from “Humidity” would be smooth!

    “Stiletto” by The Cutler too…….
