Although he's got no figures (hmm), Ray Jones from Visit London told BBC London that the theatres were packed and the expectation was that hotels and restaurants will also do well.
On the other hand, all these people might well be Londoners instead of tourists. With vast amounts of engineering work affecting rail services we're all pretty much stuck here unless we're prepared for a teeth-gnashing amount of planning, rail replacement buses and general faffing around. So why not take advantage of all that our fair city has to offer? (Which as we all know, is a lot more than Oliver! Yeah, they probably were all tourists.)
