Numpty Alert

2009 is only two days old and already we have a contender for the most pointlessly attention grabbing statement by an MP. Croydon's Andrew Pelling is advising anyone who bought a seven-day travelcard over Christmas to apply for a refund. He thinks commuters should be compensated and is actually planning to raise the issue in the House. But who on earth would buy a travelcard over Christmas when any fule kno trains don't run, the shutdown is advertised everywhere and, well, transport never has run at Christmas, has it? The eejit.
