New Year's resolutions are rubbish, we know that. But you could take the initiative to flick your brain round something new, nonetheless. How about this: Wellcome Collection have teamed up with Birkbeck to offer a short course, "Exploring Wellcome Collection: A Social History of Madness in Europe". Anyone who enjoyed Sick City will surely dig this. It runs from 14 January between 4-6pm for 11 meetings, £150. And it's not just Wellcome. Birkbeck have also got into the educational bed with Tower of London, National Maritime Museum, National Archives, Transport Museum, London Metropolitan Archives, Museums of London and National Trust to offer a whole range of part time study history courses using these fabulous and fascinating local museums and archives for inspiration.
