Crossrail and Jubilee Line Updates

Couple of transport shorts. Crossrail received another shot in the arm today, thanks to a £150 million contribution from Canary Wharf Group. The funds will cover about a third of the cost of Isle of Dogs station (warning: PDF), which begins construction next month in West India North Dock. It should be complete by 2012, although you won't be able to go anywhere until 2017 when the full line opens. In other news, the Jubilee line will close for four days over Christmas while a new signalling system is installed. The whole silvery line will be unavailable from 00:01 on Christmas Day until Monday morning. The signal works aim to reduce journey times by up to a fifth.
