Those who remember the first time while simultaneously wanting a little bit of the now with their nineties may have found the answer, in the shape of the new monthly indie night Mutton at Islington’s Buffalo Bar. Aimed at those ‘who want their MGMT served with a splash of PWEI’, the evening promises to move away from nights that focus too heavily on Shed Seven and yowling 20-somethings shouting ‘mayyyyybe, I don’t really want to know …’. You can expect music from the likes Of Montreal, Pavement, Vampire Weekend, Elastica and Late of the Pier, all for a credit-munching £3 before 11pm or an extra pound after.
