Santoré. It’s not just for lunch. Their speedy pizza-and-more (fantastic arancini!) delivery service has been wowing Londonist for months. And recently, when we set up camp for a long night in watching buckets of DVDs and doing our best to ignore the rubbish weather, Santoré came to the rescue with a delivery of a glorious metre of margherita (Santoré operates on the al metro system). Yummy. If you happen to be within the delivery zone of this Napoli-via-Clerkenwell gem we can’t recommend them enough. We washed our pizza down with a bottle of Rioja Gran Familia Tinto 2006 (which can be picked up for less than six quid at Tesco, Co-Op, Sainsbury’s, Thresher or Asda). It was a more than suitable match and we’d have no worries showing up with a bottle of this particular tinto when calling on friends. With wintery weather starting to really crimp our style and the festive season frenzies rolling out regardless of our being prepared, a pizza and a bottle of wine at home sounds like a brilliant idea (especially when the Santoré peeps to add a little fresh buffalo mozzarella ontop). We’ve been ordering pizza from Santoré for ages and have yet to be disappointed.
