Silicon Stilettoes In Soho

If there was any doubt that it’s now glam to be a geek, then last night confirmed it once and for all. The inaugural Silicon Stilettos meet up in Soho brought together women in tech for a drink and a gossip. Tackling the typical 80/20 ratio of men to women at most tech gatherings, the event sought to redress this imbalance in London’s buzzing digital scene – and did a pretty storming job of it!

Organised by girl-in-tech Zuzanna it appears this was an event waiting to happen with membership jumping from an anticipated thirty to 120. A noisy room at LVPO on Romilly Street was the setting for the girls to put the world to rights, discussing the perils and joys of working in the sector amongst many other topics.

We’d recommend the next one if you fancy being introduced to some of the inspiring, up-and-coming and established women in this arena, attendees ranged from entrepreneurs, web developers, journalists, bloggers and PAs to PRs. It was a very relaxed and informal evening with no pressure to talk shop but plenty of connections were made for both business and friendship, over a lot of glasses of wine.

In the name of fairness, if any boys fancy the company of these ladies then you can attend as the plus one of a Silicon Stiletto gal so sign up if you fancy attending the next one - we can’t wait!
