Wade into the white heat of intellectual combat this weekend: the 2008 Battle of Ideas erupts tomorrow at the Royal College of Art, with experts wielding their Socratic dialogue and Hegelian dialectics like broadswords swung by knights of old. We haven’t got nearly enough time to go through the scores of events planned, and frankly some of the topics go whizzing above our heads like angry bees, but we can tell you that speakers include Labour MP Frank Field, Times alumni George Brock Bronwen Maddox and Mick Hume, novelist Lionel Shriver, and economics commentator Martin Wolf. The full programme is here while ticket information can be found here.
