Less Horsepower In Tower Hamlets

1010_traffic.jpgWhile west London motorists may soon be free of the congestion charge, those in the east could be suffering: Tower Hamlets is considering introducing its own scheme across the borough. The council is examining ways of reducing congestion in light of what it calls "huge transport challenges" provided by traffic coming from the City and Blackwall Tunnel. The suggestion is part of a wider, 25-year transport strategy, which seeks to promote greener transport and encourage more cycling.

A Tower Hamlets spokeswoman said: "Congestion charging is one of the initiatives the council will look into in the future. There will be research into it. It may not happen for years. It is a 25-year plan."

Quite frankly, the introduction of a congestion charge for flying pigs looks more likely.
