Globe Thatch Refresher

The only thatched roof building in town is getting its barnet redone. Work began to remove the old thatch from the New Globe Theatre on Bankside last week and this week, fresh bundles of sedge and 10,000 hazel spars will be thatched in. Crucially, 600 litres of fire retardent agent will then be applied to prevent it going up in flames.
