If anyone can suggest an act that is more synonymous with London then we’d love to hear it. Chas Hodges and Dave Peacock* will be performing two “home-coming” evenings of their brand of disco-infused East-end pub sing-along music later this month, and this is your cue to snap up the last few remaining tickets.

They’re mostly known for comedic numbers such as Rabbit and Gertcha, but most people don’t realise that both of the duo were successful session musicians in the ‘60s and‘70s: they worked with Joe Meek and Jerry Lee Lewis, and one of the records they played on is the main sample in Eminem’s My Name Is (Chas plays guitar and Dave plays bass).

Chickenshed is an enterprise started up in 1974 to get young people involved in the arts. From its humble beginnings in, literally, a chicken shed, it’s grown to occupy a purpose-built theatre in Southgate and offers BTEC and M.A. courses and runs 22 outreach projects.

Tickets cost £17.50 and are available online from here.

* who we get confused with Dave Angel, Eco-Warrior.
