The ever-uncertain outlook for the aviation industry has prompted desperate actions by some airlines. BMI has been forced to deny the claim made by an employee that they will fly near-empty planes over the summer in order to preserve highly lucrative landing slots at Heathrow. Meanwhile, Ryanair has trimmed it's London services, grounding 15 flights from Stansted as passenger numbers drop and oil prices rise. Time to consider a different mode of transport - by airship, perhaps?
