- Monday – 21st July 2005: Two weeks after the July 7th bombings, four would-be suicide bombers attempt to detonate explosive devices on London’s public transport system. None of the bombs explode fully, but widespread disruption of the transport system ensues nonetheless.
Random London Fact Of The Week
Clerkenwell is named after the Clerks’ Well – a well that was used from the 12th century by the sisters of the Nunnery of St Mary. The well can still be seen from the window of an office on Farringdon Lane.
London’s Weather This Week
The forecasters are claiming that, amazingly, there will be no rain for the next few days. Whether you believe that or not is up to you. However it does look like most of the week will be quite warm, even if there is an increasing chance of dampness as the weekend approaches.
