Who Will Be The London Olympic Mascot?

The 2012 Olympic logo hasn't been especially popular, but as London's mascot hasn't been chosen yet, there's still hope it won't be an eyesore. Recently, the BBC asked its readers to send in their suggestions for a Games mascot. The results posted today range from very sincere birds of peace and endangered red squirrels to an aerosol can and a medal-winning sock. What? no pigeons? No urban foxes?

Come on, Londonist readers! We know you can top that! Leave us your suggestions in the comments section or send your images to the Londonist Flickr group. Be sure to tell us why your mascot is special and should represent our great city. Although we have to admit, that sock is pretty genius.

How about a knife wielding yob?

I vote for Boris waving his closing ceremony flag atop a Routemaster that encircles stranded tourists on Parliament Square.

Multiculturalism should also be promoted. Tagline: London, a world divided in one city.
