Here’s what we’ve learned this weekend whilst you were out trooping the colour:

  • Is carelessness catching? More sensitive documents have been left on a train. Londonist feels bad if we leave our umbrella on a train, let alone the nation’s secrets.

  • As two C of E clergymen wed in the City of London, there is an entirely predictable outburst of outraged tosh.

  • Wandsworth are being busy bees this weekend: firstly they have declared that they want all dogs micro-chipped…

  • …and they’ve been kind enough to remind business owners who use their laptops to watch live anything that they still need to get a TV licence. Or else.

  • In the Queen’s birthday honours list, Dot Cotton gets an MBE. Lots of other noble Londoners do too.

  • Boris wants to make London prettier.

  • Those bikers that weren’t cycling naked round London were cycling from London to Brighton instead.

  • Chased, charged and (hopefully) chastened: four South London teenagers are tasered following an attempted robbery.

  • Calling all lepidopterists: Bushey’s the place next Saturday for a guided moth walk, following this weekend’s National Moth Night.

  • Being paid to sleep? Sign us up! 40,000 children have just participated in Britain’s biggest simultaneous sleepover to raise money for kids in crisis hit regions. Venues included the London Dungeon.

    • And here’s what we think we might have learned by this time next week:

    • That Londonist could really do with some new shades.

  • That Britain really really really doesn’t like Mr. Bush very much…

  • …nor do they like BB’s Alex.
