Knitters of London, grab your needles with pride! Tomorrow, Saturday June 14th, is Worldwide Knit in Public Day. Yes, it's your opportunity to show the world what you can do with two pointy sticks and some string. Gather with like-minded handicrafters and rustle up some mittens, perhaps, or a nice stripy scarf. Can't knit, I hear you wail? Fear not. The Stitchettes are hear to show you the way.
Stitch & Bitch, "your friendly neighbourhood Godzilla of a knitting group" are running a Knit Crawl across London tomorrow from noon, stitching up a storm at Westminster Abbey, St James’ Park, Trafalgar Square, Soho Square, and ending up at All the Fun of the Fair in Carnaby Street.
For those of you uninitiated in the woolly ways of knit crawling, you turn up at the designated venue - preferably on a unique 'sit upon' cushion crafted by your own fair hands - and knit a bit. Then you move on. Tres simple! If you're a knit one purl one virgin, you can pop your woolly cherry with free and enthusiastic tuition from one of the Stitchettes. Just bring along the right bits of kit. We're definitely going to need photos, knitters - please tag them londonist on Flickr.

The Knit Crawl is all in aid of Breast Cancer Care and all donations will be entered into a draw to win a rather maginificent king-sized handknitted Breast Cancer Care Blanket.
