Breaking News: Fire At Stratford Station
breakingnews.jpg

Eye witnesses report a massive fire on a railway bridge over Stratford station. People on the platforms are seeing flames and smoke from only a metres away down the track.

Apparently nothing going in or out of Stratford Overground but TfL haven't caught up with this on their website yet.

We will have updates and pictures from eye witness soon.

Also, unrelated, Mile End station is currently closed due to a person under a train and Central Line is suspended.

UPDATE: Central is suspended between Liverpool Street and Leytonstone in both directions, Mile End station is closed to District and Hammersmith & City lines. Still no news as yet about the fire at Stratford Station, updates to come.

UPDATE: The blaze was a signal bridge that caught fire. It was a particularly impressive blaze that was close enough to the platforms to put the panic and, dare we say, the urge to break the news on the internet into the crowds waiting for a train. We're glad there was minimal disruption to services in and out of Stratford this morning and we hope disruption on this humble blog was minimal too.
