Weekend Round-Up

Here’s what we’ve learned whilst you’ve been either packing your bags or celebrating this weekend:

  • On his first day in office, Boris is aiming for unity.
  • In the weekend crime round-up, a teenager received fatal stab wounds in Borough, whilst another man was fatally stabbed in Willesden.
  • Costumes worn by the Supremes are to go on show at the V & A.
  • The first Hindu school in Britain is to open in Edgware in September - and it sounds really cool. Londonist was never given a yoga option at school.
  • Hark at this: Bob Ayling reckons the expansion of Heathrow was wrong. ‘Cos he so knows about running a successful airline.
  • Rotting London properties are being seized and converted to combat the housing shortage.
  • And here’s what we think we might learn by this time next week:

  • What Ken did next….
  • That there really was a bad smell in the air;
  • That Tigger’s loss is our gain;
  • Oh, and that nobody's really planning to pack up and leave the capital.
  • Piccie from PnP!'s flickr stream.
