5th View Martinis

A forthcoming publication of a new James Bond novel by Sebastian Faulks marks Ian Fleming’s 100th birthday and presents the perfect opportunity for 5th View (the fifth floor bar atop Waterstone’s Piccadilly location, Europe’s largest bookstore) to celebrate the occasion with a new martini menu. From 19 May to 30 June, 5th View will be shaking, not stirring, four classic and four contemporary new martinis. Spies for Londonist were able to obtain a top secret copy of the menu and have reported back that among the eight cocktails, the Smoky Martini (a Bombay Sapphire gin martini with a splash of Glenfiddich) and the Hazelnut Martini (made with Ketel One vodka, Frangelico and crème de cacao) look especially promising.

Special James Bond martini menu or not, 5th View, located at 203-206 Piccadilly, is a good hideout to keep in mind should you ever find yourself on a mission round the Piccadilly area. Of course, with its view (to a kill?) of Parliament and the Battersea Power Station, reservations aren’t a bad idea (especially if you want a table by the window).
