Londoners can be a playful bunch, going on Flickr Photo Scavenger Hunts, playing Rubbish Games and doing pictures of our favourite landmarks. There's also a chance all next week to play houses and happy families at Home Sweet Home in the Shunt Vaults, an installation by collaborative arts company Subject to Change.

Home Sweet Home is a small city made of cardboard, all neat streets and small houses that visitors can occupy and settle into.Sounds like fun, no? And what a fabulous way to get on the property ladder and indulge in a bit of self-indulgent architectural / interior design...

On arrival, Residents are given a flat packed property and plot with which they are free to do as they please. The development boasts a number of services to help settle you in – a notice board, a postal service and even a local fm radio station. Meet your neighbours, explore the city, get to know the world around you. Every resident will be given a key that gives them admission to Shunt for the rest of the event. On the Saturday a street party will be held at which residents can celebrate with each other and take their new houses away with them, back to their slightly larger ones.

Shunt members get priority on properties but if you're keen and not a card-carrying Shunt attendee, get in touch with guys running it anyway and we'll see you there for a chat over the garden fence, maybe have you over for a barbecue or give you a hand moving that sofa up the stairs...

Home Sweet Home by Subject to Change at the Shunt Vaults, Tuesday 23 to Saturday 26 January. For more information and to put your name down for a house, go to the Home Sweet Home site here.
